While strings are represented as a NULL terminated character sequence with base-64 encoding, documents consisted of such strings can not be easily convertible using XSLT style sheets. This representation is designed around the specific implementation of one ECMA member.
XML offers some kind of interoperability. The representation of data in the clipboard should be redesigned with that approach to interoperability in mind.
