Proposed Disposition of DIS 29500 Comment NZ-0051 (Modified: 2008-01-08) DIS 29500 defines a set of XML vocabularies for representing word-processing documents, spreadsheets and presentations. The goal of this standard is to be capable of faithfully representing the pre-existing corpus of word-processing documents, spreadsheets and presentations that had been produced by the Microsoft Office applications including Office 97, Office 2000, Office 2003 and the 2007 Microsoft Office System. However, it is not possible to create a simple one-to-one mapping between specific Office Open XML functionalities and specific versions of Microsoft Office applications because the features have evolved over time with each version of each application.
